MTF and Poetic Theater Productions joined forces to create a laboratory where artists in the disciplines of poetry, music, and dance could cross-collaborate and collectively devise theatrical events. On Sunday, January 26th, 18 artists met in the studios at Playwrights Downtown and were curated into 6 triads consisting of one poet, one composer, and one choreographer. After an hour of development time, they presented the results to the group. In a second round, triads were randomized and the process was repeated. The participating artists will now spend the month of February refining their collaborative experiments before presenting the results to the public on March 7th at The Wild Project as part of the Poetic License Festival. Brandon Powers and I sourced artists and facilitated the workshop for MTF alongside Jeremy Karafin and Ellen Mischinksi from PTP, and we are so excited by the initial creations!
